The only things they had in common were that they were generally "off-profile" for where they came from and the sources were protected by NDAs.

'Purple top' is a term for willer family estate bourbon with the purple tops that predates this bottle release. This one is in basically a weller bottle. It's not really an important distinction unless you're out there selling "purple tops" without pictures or something, then someone would be mad.
